Some ten years ago I was in Toronto and had the opportunity to be with friends and their friends. I was surprised by the rampant and vocal anti-American sentiments prevailing among Armenian-Canadians I met. One of them even remarked that they “look with amusement at their southern neighbor”. I doubt that the sentiments were any different among the Armenian-Canadians in Montreal.
Watching this video I felt vindicated. Its now an Armenian-American that watched with amusement at the northern neighbor and among them at the ‘shabab el Arman” (translation: the Armenian young men) as uttered in the background in the video.
Other than the mundane election rhetoric such as ‘fight for democracy’, ‘work for you (the voter)’, the bilingual fluency of the candidate stood up for me. It may be that is an important attribute for a candidate to have in Canada, especially in Montreal, to attract voters. Who, of my generations, after all forgets De Gaulle’s nose sniffing from a door of his “vive la Quebec Libre”
Cain & Abel
The Cain and Abel story: brother stabbing his brother in the back.
When are we going to wake up and work together for our common causes?
I see no hope for our future. Leave a little room to our youth; they may do a better job.
Turks do not need to raise their fingers since we are doing their dirty job. It is disgusting.
I do not know Viken Darakdjian. I don't know how true is the story. I was not aware of it until now. I do not belong to any Armenian political organization. All I care for is the success of the Armenian Cause.
Elections in Montreal
To: Quebec Armenians,
The "Armenians" on whom you trusted to be with you in the elections are tied to their political partners in Lebanon, who in return are paying huge sums of Money to their Armenian "Masters" in Lebanon during the local elections.
This is an international political game, in which you were the victim like Vicken Darakdjian!
