2. Hamshens and Repopulating

   Currently where "World Authority" concepts are being forced upon us, we should focus on ONE thing and ONE thing only: to increase the populations of Armenia and Artsakh, to justify our claims to these lands.  

   Does anyone realize that Israel is working night and day to import as many Jews from throughout the world as possible, even from the United States?

   But if we are to succeed, we must make Armenia and Artsakh livable and desirable enough for people to return. We have to improve housing, jobs, incomes, food quality and supplies, living conditions, the arts and the sciences, industry, education, agriculture, manufacturing, etc. There have been successes in certain isolated regions, but there has to be the SAME opportunity throughout Armenia–an alleged European country.

   Let’s learn from people in the Middle East who have a "plan"…and copy that plan.

   If Armenia and Karabagh are not populated sufficiently, you can kiss them goodbye within the next 25 years. Go ahead, laugh.

   Եթե մեր պետական այրերը կարողանան իրագործել համշենահայերի Հայաստանի կամ Արցախի տարածքներում բնակեցման ծրագիրը ապա տեղաբնակների հետ միասին նրանց նկատմամբ պետք է լինեն չափազանց հանդուրժող և նրբանկատ, որպեսզի չկրկնվի այն ինչ ժամանակին տեղի ունեցավ հայրենադարձների հետ (նրանց անվանարկելով գաղթական, ախպար) որի հետեվանքները մեզ բոլորիս հայտնի են:

4. Armenians living in today’s Turkey

   Dear Friends,

   I strongly believe that we have to keep our Armenian brothers and sisters in the occupied lands of Western Armenia today, because one day if and when we are able to take back part of the land, the Hamshentsis will protect the land.  We can’t put hopes on our Armenian people in Diaspora or Armenia to go and inhabit the liberated land.

   More than a million Armenians living on the occupied land are well prepared to take care of any liberated land from the occupier -Turkey.

   1. Repopulating Western Armenia

      Dear  Hagop,

      I am sorry to say that your assumption that no Armenians from Armenia or the Diaspora would go to Western Armenia is a bit hasty.  Who can tell that for sure?

      There are more than a million Armenians in the Near Abroad, meaning the Russian Federation. People in Krasnodar, Rostov. Moscow, etc., not the oligarchs. They are there to earn a living. They will go gladly if…

      We by then have reorganized our Diaspora not through funds that are handouts and benevolence. No, if we create a National Investment Trust Fund in Geneva, with the help of a nucleus of five or six magnates all the way down to lesser donors. Loans with minimal interest can be provided to those who "return".

      I have mentioned a few times that we can do this through a professional colleagues’ associations members … a 100,000-strong group there to be organized. Non-politico people. Let the political party guys continue their work. We are not against them or the BBBs–what Ara  Baliozian calls Bishops, Benefactors and Bosses.

         In the third paragraph of my previous letter ‘donors’ should read ‘investors.’ The natlonal ‘investment’ trust fund should be ‘investors.’

5. Reply to G. Palandjian

   Dear Gaytzag Palandjian,

   Thank you for your remarks you made on my comment of yesterday. I wish you were right to say that we the Armenians in Armenia and the Diaspora will go and inhabit the liberated land if and when.

   Unfortunately, I don’t see it that way.  Look at Armenia now; people are leaving in thousands to former Soviet Republics, USA, Australia, and many other countries, even to Turkey. I am afraid we won’t be able to protect Armenia if the trend of exodus continues the way it is going now. Let’s wake-up and see around us, the exodus must stop from Armenia.

   Of course no one can force people to stay where there is no work or can’t provide basic necessities for their families.  The Government of Armenia has a big responsibility to attract Armenians to stay in Armenia by providing jobs for the people who are looking for work.

   I can write pages and pages, but this much is enough for now.

   I am a proud Armenian, I love Armenia, and I would like to say that I was the first one who took the Yerakouyn  flag to Armenia in 1977 wearing it on a T shirt on my chest.

      Dear  Hagop Karlozian,

      I am antichronologically responding to your above post. That flag on T-shirt you took to RoA in 1977 is a very typically Diaspora Armenian gesture. It unfortunately does not leave a good impression there. Not even now. Because our brethren there are interested no more in such demos on our behalf.

      As Ara Papian, former RoA ambassador to Canada wrote and I quote: "When is Mher coming back .?"  to that effect. Meaning, in general,  they expect that someone or some group come and perform miracles in RoA. This is the way all who are still  there think. Some still believe that LTP can pull up that magical act. Humbug!

      LTP’s followers were lured by the West’s promises and handouts…and those huge foreign government loans..

      What  I am advocating, for over 33 years, is to have the Diaspora re-organized to be a super structure.and the national investment trust fund. It would be stationed in Geneva, not Yerevan. The loans would be through Armenian banks but again guaranteed through the latter and on steady continuous basis–.NOT on a one time, lump sum basis. In short, the Diaspora has  to have a head organization that will be sovereign, though helping  RoA/Artsakh, too. But also to the Diasporans displaced or in need. Always on loan basis. Enough of Western-style bakhshish handouts.

      I believe it  is time to re-organize now. Otherwise, we are already late. If people will not adhere to my humble suggestions and try to oppose it, let be. Then we stay in this petrified BBB, governed  stance. I am not advocating to go against these but in parallel, also with the government of RoA.

      For it is one thing to be in Diaspora and imagine  we are in our homeland. I would like to go to Artskah to settle there and live and work there, but am over 80 with family problems and the loss of a grandson on whom I had placed  many a  hope…
