Այսու կոչ կ՚ընեմ բոլոր բարեկամներուս եւ ընթերցողներուն տարածել ներքեւի գրութիւնը, որուն տակը սիրով պիտի ստորագրէի։ Գրութեան հեղինակը Գարեգինի գիտնական, միջազգային վարկ վայելող, հայ արուեստի տեսաբան եւ միջնադարեան հայ մանրանկարչութեան լաւագոյն գիտակներէն մէկն է՝ Պրոֆ. Լեւոն Չուգասզեան։

2016թ. ՛՛Սասնա Ծռերի՛՛ ապստամբութիւնից յետոյ Հիմնադիր Խորհրդարանի նախագահ Գարեգին Չուգասզեանը անցաւ ընդհատակ, քանի որ նրա նկատմամբ անհիմն կերպով յայատարարուեց հետախուզում: Երեկ նա դուրս եկաւ ընդհատակից եւ ընկերների հետ գնաց Ծիծեռնակաբերդի Ցեղասպանութեան յուշարձան՝ անմեղ նահատակների յիշատակին իր յարգանքի տուրքը տալու համար: Յուշարձանից վերադառնալու ճանապարհին, գիշերուայ 10.30-ին քաղաքացիական հագուստով ոստիկանների մի խումբ մօտեցաւ եւ արագ ձերբակալեց նրան ու տեղափոխեց Նուբարաշէնի բանտ:

Գարեգին Չուգասզեանը համակարգչային տեխնոլոգիաների միջազգային մասնագէտների շրջանում մեծ հեղինակութիւն վայելող գիտնական է:

Յիշեցնենք, որ 2015 թ. ապրիլին նա Հիմնադիր Խորհրդարանի իր ընկերներ Ժիրայր Սեֆիլեանի, Վարուժան Աւետիսեանի եւ միւսների հետ զանգուածային անկարգութիւններ հրահրելու անհիմն մեղադրանքով ձերբակալուեց եւ մօտ երեք շաբաթ մնաց Նուբարաշէնի բանտում:

Այդ իրադարձութիւնը մեծ վրդովմունք առաջացրեց զանազան երկրների նրա գործընկերների միջավայրում եւ բողոքի ալիք բարձրացրեց արտասահմանում: Այդ ժամանակ ՄԱԿ-ի շրջանակներում Տեղեկատուական հասարակութեան Աշխարհի Գագաթնաժողովի Մրցանակների խորհրդի անդմաները բողոքի նամակներ հղեցին իրենց երկրների քաղաքական առաջնորդներին, դեսպաններին, մարդկանց իրաւապաշտպան կազմակերպութիւններին, նաեւ Հայաստանի Հանրապետութեան նախագահին անհիմն արգելափակուած Գարեգին Չուգասզեանին եւ նրա ընկերներին ազատելու պահանջով:

Secretariat of the Founding Parliament has been informed that members of the World Summit Award (WSA) global initiative within the framework of the United Nations’ World Summit on the Information Society, have expressed their great concern regarding the unjustified detention of Garegin Chugaszian and his friends.

As former colleagues of Mr. Chugaszyan, they are very disturbed to witness this kind of behavior towards prominent computer scientist and currently coordinate action against it.

International members of WSA community actively send letters to political leaderships and embassies of their countries, human rights organizations as well as President of Armenia demanding immediate release of all 5 political prisoners.

Below you can see one of such letters in German that has been sent to Austria‘s Minister for Foreign Affairs, from Prof. Dr. Peter A. Bruck, Chairman of World Summit Award.

Sehr geehrter Herr Bundesminister Kurz,

Ich schreibe Ihnen mit der Bitte, sich für die Freilassung von Herrn Garegin Chugaszyan in Armenien einzusetzen.

Herr Chugaszyan ist der Armenische Partner der österreichischen UN Initiative World Summit Award und gehört seit 2003 zu dem Netzwerk, das in 178 UN Mitgliedstaaten die besten interaktiven Inhalte für eine qualitätsvolle Nutzung der IKT in offenen Wettbewerben eruiert und für die Entwicklung einer inklusiven Wissensgesellschaft promotet und prämiert.

Herr Chugaszyan hat sich für die Partizipation von BürgerInnen für ein freies und demokratisches Armenien engagiert und ist uns als aufrechter Bürger, der für Gewaltlosigkeit eintritt bestens bekannt.

Wie aus dem beiliegenden Fact Sheet ersichtlich, wurde er und einige seiner Freunde unter dem Vorwand einer Störung der politischen Ordnung am 7. April verhaftet und wird seit damals in unzumutbaren Haftbedingen gefangen gehalten.

Der heutige Tag der 100 Jahre Erinnerung an den Armenischen Genozid und das Leiden der Überlebenden des armenischen Volkes sollte dazu dienen, dass die gegenwärtige Regierung ihre politischen Gegner frei lässt und einen Dialog mit allen der Gewaltlosigkeit verpflichteten Kräften des Landes sucht.

Ich ersuche Sie, bei Ihrem politischen Gegenüber in Armenien entsprechend sich für die Freilassung von politischen Gefangenen und vor allem auch von Herrn Garegin Chugaszyan einzusetzen.

Dear Federal Minister Kurz,

I am writing to you to stand up for the release of Mr Garegin Chugaszyan in Armenia.

Mr. Chugaszyan is the Armenian partner of the Austrian UN Initiative World Summit Award and has been part of the network since 2003, which identifies and promotes the best interactive content for a high-quality use of ICT in open competitions in 178 UN member states and promotes and promotes the development of an inclusive knowledge society.

Mr. Chugaszyan is committed to the participation of citizens in a free and democratic Armenia and is well known to us as an upstanding citizen who advocates nonviolence.

As can be seen from the enclosed fact sheet, he and some of his friends were arrested on 7 April under the pretext of disrupting the political order and since then have been held in unreasonable prison terms.

Today's Day of 100 Years of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide and the suffering of the survivors of the Armenian people should serve to free the current government of its political opponents and to seek a dialogue with all the non-violent forces of the country.

I request that you engage with your political counterpart in Armenia for the release of political prisoners, and especially for Mr Garegin Chugaszyan.
