In his book–“Armenia Sweden”—Artsvi Bakhchinyan writes: “The Armenian contacts with the Nordic World, and the possible influence on it, goes back further than the 11th century. The oldest evidence may be found in the runic inscriptions from the 5th to 6th centuries spread throughout the territories of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, and England. The well-known Norwegian linguist and runologist Sophus Bugge took it for granted that the Armenians had influenced those runes.
