As you would have heard already, the Armenian Canadian Medical Association of Ontario is having its 6th annual gala fundraiser this Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Liberty Grand in Toronto, starting at 6:30PM. The funds raised will support ACMAO’s chain of clinics throughout Karabagh and ACMAO’s Neurology development project in Yerevan. In addition, this year ACMAO is taking on a huge challenge, namely getting the first world class MRI machine to Armenia. This MRI center will operate in the main children’s hospital in Yerevan, Arabkir, on a non-profit basis under ACMAO’s control. The guest speaker is Dr. Raymond Damadian, inventor of the MRI. We hope to see you at the gala.
The purpose of the present email is to make you aware that ACMAO had the great fortune of being donated a fantastic piece of art, picture and description attached, by Mrs. Mary Tatossian. The piece is Armand Tatossian’s ‘Serendipity’, and it will be live-auctioned at our gala. Its estimated beginning retail value is 22,000$. The starting bid is 5000$.
ACMAO has decided to start the bidding for this painting prior to our gala, as soon as this email is sent, in order to give the community at large a chance to obtain this wonderful piece and to contribute to getting our first MRI to Armenia.
The process will be as follows:
Starting now, you may send your bid to Dr. Berge Minassian at [email protected].
Make sure you are clearly identified and include a phone number.
Dr. Minassian will acknowledge your bid and let you and everyone else who bid know every subsequent bid value for you to continue bidding, if interested.
This email bidding will stop at 1PM, Saturday Sept. 11, the day of our gala. Between 1PM and 5PM all bidders till that point will receive an email informing them of the final bid amount and asking them if they are interested in participating in the live auction at the gala. Those who are will be contacted by phone, and will be assigned one of our committee members as their proxies who through open telephone communication with the bidder will bid for them during the live auction.
There will never be a chance to get a Tatossian, this superb one in particular, again at possibly a low price. Of note, that Mr. Tatossian is sadly no longer painting due to illness. He will be attending our gala. There will also never be a chance, again, to get our children their first MRI machine.
Please consider the email bidding open.
Or simply come to the gala!
Sincere regards to all.

Bravo ACMAO!
I would invite readers to visit ACMAO’s website to have an idea of their many projects that they have carried so far in Artsakh and Armenia.
This last plan of getting an MRI for Armenia is worthy of support and your donation – even without attending the Gala – I am sure will be appreciated by the organizers.
A moment with the doctors
