Over the years we have told non-Armenians about our Genocide with books, photographs, magazine and newspaper articles and reports, with radio and TV documentaries, with movies, demonstrations, petitions and in conversation. Our brothers and sisters in Argentina have come up with a novel and effective way to tell the story of our Genocide. This clip depicts Argentine Armenian Youth commemorating, in the heart of the capital–Buenos Aires, the Genocide with Kochari Dance.
What a great way to disseminate the historic truth! We hope other Diaspora communities organize similar events.

  1. I hope Not on 24th April

    I would find it strange if this is performed on April 24.. This could be O.K during an Armenian cultural day,  representing the Armenian short history and emphasizing the genocides of 1895, 1908 and 1915.
     
    We can invent a Resurrection Day on April 25 and dance. And this can be the expression of the new generation.
     
    Let us maintain each memorial day respectfully.
     
    As well, we can’t do this on Easter Sunday.. We can do it the next day, after Resurrection, and show to the world that we are alive.
     
    I have seen it in the Philippines, dancing during holy mass. Each nation has its culture,. This is not our culture.

  2. Not the Right Way

    This is not the right way to commemorate the Genocide. Sorry….dancing?
