Fall Cultural Events

Keghart.com and the AGBU Toronto Chapter will present two cultural-social gatherings this month which will feature a panel discussion and a book launch.

The first event Diaspora Armenian Political Apathy: Myth or Reality? (Oct. 27, 2013) seems to beg the answer. Is it evident or not?  We'll find out when informed panelists debate the issues. Readers are encouraged to leave their remarks, questions, etc. in advance, in the comments section on website. They would thus fuel a much-needed public discourse on this vital topic, prior to the session. Reader questions would also assist panelists gauge opinion and concerns.

Armenologist, educator, long-time editor, activist Dr. Minas Kojayan is specially invited from California, following the resounding success of the book launch of  Մորմոքող Անցեալի Արահետներով (Along the Paths of an Anguished Past) in Glendale, CA. Unlike garden-variety travel stories/reports/books, Kojayan's travel account of his two trips to Western Armenia combines geography, politics, economics, architecture, history, religion, patriotic symbolism and emotions–all delivered with a sharp message. Keghart.com's Editor Jirair Tutunjian, a much-sought speaker, will present the book on Oct. 28, 2013, following which Dr. Kojayan will illustrate the places, history and his perceptions through a slide show.
