World-famous Egyptian-Armenian cartoonist/caricaturist Alexander Saroukhan also wrote humorous books where he criticized the 
negative traits and pessimism of prominent Armenians. In his magnificent “For the Seven-and-a- Half Sins of Ours…" he presented the doomsday stories his fellow Armenians exchanged: the endless complaints; the "catastrophes" reported in our journalism, and the same weeping and crying Armenians indulged in today.
Now, in 2014, a year before the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, we have much to boast and be proud about, despite our failures and mistakes and perhaps the errors we will make in a world of ballistic rockets, atomic-, hydrogen- and neutron bombs, religious extremism and chauvinism, unending wars, massacres and genocides.

Now, in 2014, a year before the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, we have much to boast and be proud about, despite our failures and mistakes and perhaps the errors we will make in a world of ballistic rockets, atomic-, hydrogen- and neutron bombs, religious extremism and chauvinism, unending wars, massacres and genocides.
We have an Armenian state–for the third time in the 20th century. Such a state, despite its shortcomings, will continue to exist and play an important geopolitical role in the Caucuses and the Middle East. Besides, we have another independent Armenian state: the Republic of Nagorno-Karabagh (Artsakh) which, like our legendary patriarch Hayk Nahabed and mythological hero David of Sassoun, defeated their modern equivalents such as powerful Azerbaijan and its tutor-ally Turkey. Our generals and marshals of freedom-loving mountainous Artsakh made miracles in the Second World War and helped save Europe and America from Nazi rule. Our Toumanyan division helped liberate Germany from the new Dark Ages, and left the proud graves of the Armenian soldiers and flags all over Europe, in addition to inscriptions on the walls of Reichstag and in many capitals of Europe, from Kiev to Budapest and Prague.
The Armenian genius and its accomplishments are evident in the modern world history. We had brilliant representatives in science: Abraham Alikhanov (Alikhanyan), Victor Hambartzoumyan, Norayr Sisakyan, Artem Mikoyan. Anastas Mikoyan, the famed Soviet diplomat saved the world from nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis (1961-'62). Our recent history is dotted with world-famous stars such as Charles Aznavour, Aram Khachatourian, Alan Hovhanness, Komitas, Gohar Gasbaryan, Lucine Amara, Isabel Bayrakdarian, Djivan Gasparyan, just to name a few in music. The list is endless in the arts.
We also shine in sports. The beloved Ararad soccer team of the '70s elevated our fame in sports to a new international level. It was our golden age of football. Today stars like Henrik Mkhitaryan, Yury Jorkayeff and Alain Boghossian are making headlines.
Although the mass migration from Armenia is alarming, thousands of Armenians from Iraq, Syria, Iran and the former Soviet Central Asian republics are settling in Armenia and Artsakh. Moreover, more than a million "hidden" Armenians are returning to their roots, establishing organizations and unions, and setting up conferences in Europe and Turkey! The existence and the resurrection of our "lost" brethren is an exciting phenomenon for 21st century Armenians.
We must look at these historic events through an optimistic prism. We are one of the oldest nations on the planet. Golden pages about Armenians are inscribed in the history books of India, Iran, the Byzantine, Ottoman and Russian empires, in Roman history and that of Macedonia, Romania, France…
Let's celebrate Armenians.

Անհաւատալի կը թուի առաջին իսկ հայեացքէն, որ այս փոքրամարմին, թխադէմ, մանկական դիմագիծով պատանեակը այդպիսի հզօր կամք եւ ոյժ կը թաքցնէ իր մէջ, միայն 2012-2013 թուականներուն Լիբանանի
մարմնամարզութեան կրտսերներու ախոյեանութեան կարողանալով տիրանալ 6 բազմագոյն մետալներու…։ 2006 թուականին ծնած Քրիստ Կարպիս Պարսումեանի հետ լոյս աշխարհ եկած է մարզական բացառիկ տաղանդ մը, որ մասնաւորաբար փայլած է մարմնամարզութեան աշխարհին մէջ։ Հայ պատանեակը անմիջապէս գրաւած է լիբանանեան մարմնամարզութեան վաստակաշատ մարզիչ Թալէպ Մաժէտի ուշադրութիւնը։ Վերջինս, 1979-1980 թուականներուն այցելած ու մրցումներուն մասնակցած է Հայոց քաղաքամայր Երեւանի ու Մոսկուայի մէջ՝ մօտիկէն ծանօթանալով «Օղակներու արքայ» Ալպերթ Ազարեանին ու 1952 թուականի ողիմպիական ախոյեան Հրանդ Շահինեանին, խորապէս տպաւորուելով անոնց հիմնած մարմնամարզութեան դպրոց-ախոյեաններու դարբնոցներով։
Թալէպ Մաժէտ կը յայտնէ, «Եթէ Քրիստ Պարսումեան բարձրակարգ մարզումներու հետեւի Հայաստանի մէջ թէ այլուր՝ կրնայ աշխարհահռչակ մարզիկ դառնալ։ 2012 թուականին, Լիբանանի 
կրտսերներու ախոյեան։ 2013 թուականին ոչ միայն բացարձակ ախոյեան, այլեւ օղակներու, ձիացատկի եւ գետնի ազատ վարժութիւններուն մէջ արժանացաւ ոսկի մետալներու։ Բացառիկ տաղանդ, որ մասնաւոր ուշադրութեան պէտք է արժանանայ պատասխանատու շրջանակներու կողմէ՝ զինք դարձնելով Լիբանանի եւ… հայոց պարծանքը», ժպտալով կ’եզրակացնէ մարզիչ Թալէպ Մաժէտ։
Ըստ հարազատներուն վկայութեան, փոքրիկ ախոյեանը խստօրէն կը պահպանէ մարզական ռեժիմը ոչ միայն մարզումներու՝ այլեւ մրցումներու ընթացքին։ Ունի նաեւ երաժշտական ցայտուն տաղանդ, կը սիրէ կարդալ, ինչպէս նաեւ ուսումնասիրել մարմնամարզութեան տաղանդները։ Լիբանանի ախոյեանութեան ընթացքին, “ազարեանական” օղակներու վրայ, Քրիստ Պարսումեան նոյնիսկ իր մարզիչին եւ դատական կազմին անակնկալ հնարքներ վերապահած էր՝ բուռն ծափահարութեան եւ ոսկեայ պարգեւի արժանանալով։
2014 վճռական տարուան սեմին, սպասելիքները շատ են…։ Մաղթենք որ լիբանանահայ մարզական կեանքի երբեմնի աստղահոյլին մէջ կը յայտնուի նոր ախոյեան մը եւս։
