  3. Kudos to Keghart.com

Jill Abramson, the Executive Editor of NY Times, reported on November 30, 2011 that the paper has introduced an enhanced comment section as follows:

    1. The new system “for the first time brings our readers’ comments onto the same page as the article or blog post. This improves the old system, which relegated them to a separate page.”   Keghart.com’s comments for an article have always been onto the same page as the article
    2. Comments are now threaded, giving readers the ability to respond to one another.” Keghart.com has provided the same feature since inception with an added feature lately of rating the comment.
    3. In addition, we’ve added tie-ins to social media: comments, both yours and others’, can now be shared to Twitter and Facebook.” I am not sure if it meant to say that one’s comment may appear on her or his Facebook or Twitter.
    4. And finally, we are introducing a program for “trusted” commenters — those who have maintained a history of posting outstanding comments on the site. Submissions from these members of our community will not be moderated in advance. Trusted commenter status is offered by invitation only.”  I leave that to Keghart.com to comment.
Not bad for Keghart.com. In essence, it’s comments section has been what NY Times new comment section will be henceforth.
