and church communities in the Diaspora

Dear courageous compatriots in the Diaspora,

As you have already been following in the news, during his April 22nd meeting with Nikol Pashinyan for negotiation over resignation, Serzh Sargsyan in fact threatened the people of Armenia with reiteration of the brutal violence of March 1st, 2008. The peaceful, non-violent and lawful actions of the nationwide civil disobedience are intentionally labeled as unlawful, thus setting the ground for justification for the impending violence being planned.

Dear courageous compatriots in the Diaspora,

The actions of peaceful civil disobedience that started in Yerevan on April 13th are ongoing to this day all over Armenia. In Yerevan only, the number of the protesters reached 120.000 – 140.000 as of April 22nd, nationwide strikes are taking place in the country. These are predominately young people out there in the streets and squares all over the country. They demonstrate their high level of civil consciousness and the strong will and determination to stand for their rights, for their present and future. They “make their step” towards establishment of democracy and its full practice in Armenia.

We want to thank you all for fighting along with us in unison. Our fair demand is to free our homeland from dictatorship, from deepening economic and social failure and to establish the rule of law and human rights, an environment for growth and justice in our Republic. Armenia is the home for all of us, and you too have joined this vital struggle as equal owners of the home!

On the eve of April 24, what we see is the heavily armed police forces and armored vehicles face-to-face with the people who have risen for these ideals and vision. The people’s fair demand is stifled with brutalities; our voices that have resonated to the world through your actions have been muffled with shootings and explosives.

For over 100 years, we have lived with the memory of pain and trauma, with the dream to reclaim our long lost historical homeland one day. Today, however, they are infringing upon the very foundation of the statehood we have obtained with difficulty, that is, on our right to freedom of will in a statehood that is going through turbulent times of development and strengthening.

We believe it is vital that on this April 24 we first of all reclaim our rights and dignity in our homeland, the Republic of Armenia where the state is occupied by a dictatorship.

The bright, young and free citizens that are making this claim in the streets of Yerevan and other cities of Armenia need your support today! Together, we must rethink the purpose of these days for us and to mark them not only with mourning and commemoration, but also as days of the true revival of our nation in its full potential.

We call our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora to redirect the course of the upcoming events on April 23 and April 24, to turn the march of thousands into support actions for the people in the Republic of Armenia. Fill the representative offices, consulates and embassies of Armenia in your respective countries with your physical presence; voice our common demand for justice and rule of law in Armenia!

Otherwise, can we be demanding historical justice from the world in the person of someone who does not lawfully represent the country’s citizens, and is rejected by them? Voicing the truth for our country is the only way to validate our calls for justice and truth to the international community.

Particularly, we call on you and your respective organizations to:

Turn all the Genocide commemoration events into acts of solidarity for the justice and lawful struggle of the people of Armenia. Consider using the following slogans in your speeches and posters, or come up with your own ones with the same overall message:

– Free and Fair Armenia! Ազա՛տ Արդա՛ր Հայաստա՛ն
– Make A Step, Reject Serzh Քայլ արա՛, Մերժի՛ր Սերժին
– Freedom for Political Prisoners! Ազատությու՛ն քաղբանտարկյալներին
– Armenia Belongs to its People! Հայաստանը՝ ժողովրդի՛ն
– Don’t you threaten us, Serzh! Սե՛րժ, դու մեզ չսպառնաս
– No Second March 1 in Armenia! Հայաստանում Մարտի 1-ը չի՛ կրկնվելու
– 1988-2018!
– The State is the People Պետությունը ժողովուրդն է
– Make a Step, Serzh Sargsyan, LEAVE! Սերժ Սարգսյա՛ն, քայլ արա՛, ՀԵՌԱՑԻ՛Ր

Write letters of ultimatum for Serzh Sargsyan to leave the post of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia ASAP.

Write letters to all the members of the National Assembly of Armenia urging them to withdraw the Prime Minister’s powers and to ensure the political immunity of the detained and arrested members of the NA.

Urgently demand the immediate release and full recovery of the rights of the leaders and protesters of this peaceful and lawful protest, call all the state and law enforcement bodies to refrain from any brutality and bloodshed of the peaceful citizens.

Voice the aforementioned issues on the platforms of international organizations.

Hold continuous protests in front of the Embassies and Consulates of the Republic of Armenia.

Put all your efforts in action in order to bring the events unfolding in Armenia and the unprecedented nationwide peaceful civil protests of the Armenian nation to the international attention. We need urgent intervention of all possible international human rights and governing bodies, demanding Serzh Sargsyan to admit his defeat and leave. Indeed, a lot of concerted effort and international attention is needed to restrain the malicious intent of the regime and prevent the use of police violence against the peaceful protesters.

Together, we can and must first restore justice in our present-day country! We are convinced that this is the only way to recover the injustices of the past – a path that we can only walk together!

Սփյուռքի մեր խիզախ հայրենակիցնե՛ր,

ինչպես տեղյակ եք, ապրիլի 22-ին Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի հետ բանակցային հանդիպման ժամանակ Սերժ Սարգսյանը փաստացի սպառնաց ժողովրդին 2008 թ-ի մարտի 1-ի բռնությունների կրկնությամբ: Ժողովրդական խաղաղ, ոչ բռնի, օրինական անհնազանդության գործողությունները դիտավորյալ որակվում են որպես անօրինական՝ սրանով հող նախապատրաստելով իշխանության հետագա բռնությունների արդարացման համար։

Ապրիլի 13-ից Երևանում սկսված բողոքի խաղաղ անհնազանդության ակցիաները մինչ այս պահը շարունակվում են ամբողջ Հայաստանով: Միայն Երևանում ապրիլի 22-ին երեկոյան՝ հանրապետության հրապարակում հրավիրված հանրահավաքի մասնակիցների թիվը հասել է 120.000 – 140.000-ի, երկրում համատարած գործադուլ և դասադուլ է իրականացվում: Փողոցներում և հրապարակներում մեծամասամբ երիտասարդներն են, ովքեր ցույց են տալիս սեփական իրավունքների գիտակցումը և դրանք պաշտպանելու կամքը․ «քայլ են անում» հանուն Հայաստանում ժողովրդավարության հաստատման:

Շնորհակալ ենք այս օրերին միահամուռ և մեզ հետ միաձայն պայքարելու համար: Մեր արդար պահանջն է` ազատագրել հայրենիքը բռնապետությունից և հաստատել օրենքի և իրավունքի գերակայություն, արդար և առողջ զարգացման միջավայր ձևավորել մեր պետությունում: Հայաստանը բոլորիս տունն է, և դու՛ք էլ տանտիրոջ իրավունքով հավասարապես միացել եք այս կենսական պայքարին:

Այսօր՝ ապրիլի 24-ի նախօրեին, հանուն այս գաղափարների ոտքի կանգնած մեր ժողովրդի դիմաց ոստիկանական ուժեր են կանգնած հայրենիքո՛ւմ, մեր արդար պահանջը խեղդվում է բռնությամբ և իրավունքի ու օրենքի ոտնահարումներով: Մեր միասնական ձայնը, որն արձագանքում է ողջ աշխարհում հեր շնորհիվ, այսօր հայրենիքի սրտում խլացվում է ոստիկանական բիրտ ուժով: Խաղաղ հավաքների դեմ իշխանությունն արդեն փողոց է դուրս բերել ծանր զրահատեխնիկա, ոստիկանները զինված են։

Հարյուր տարի շարունակ մենք ապրել ենք տառապանքի և ջարդի հիշողությամբ, կորուսյալ պատմական հայրենիքի վերադարձի երազանքով: Բայց այսօր Հայաստանի իրական տերերից՝ ժողովրդից, խլում են մեր իսկ վաստակած հայրենիքի և պետականության հիմքը՝ ազատ կամքի մեր իրավունքը։ Պետականություն, որը կայացման և հզորացման դժվարագույն օրեր է ապրում։

Այս տարի ապրիլի 24-ին մենք պիտի առաջին հերթին վերահաստատենք մեր իրավունքները մեզանից բռնազավթվող հայրենիքում՝ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում. սա մե՛ր պետությունն է, մե՛ր երկիրը, մե՛ր տունը:

Այսօր Երևանի և Հայաստանի մյուս քաղաքների փողոցներում իրենց իրավունքի համար պայքարող լուսավոր երիտասարդությունը և ազատասեր քաղաքացիները զորակցության կարիք ունեն: Մենք պետք է միասի՛ն վերաիմաստավորենք այս օրերը ու նշանավորենք դրանք՝ որպես ոչ միայն սգի և հիշատակի, այլև մեր ազգի իրական վերածննդի օրեր:

Կո՛չ ենք անում ողջ Սփյուռքում ապրիլի 23-ի և 24-ի հիշատակի բազմահազարանոց երթերը վերածել առաջին հերթին Հայաստանի Հանրապետության ժողովրդի զորակցության գործողության, ձեր երկրներում ՀՀ ներկայացուցչություններն ու դեսպանատները ողողե՛ք ձեր ֆիզիկական ներկայությամբ, հնչեցրե՛ք Հայաստանում արդարություն և օրենքի գերակայություն հաստատելու մեր միասնական պահանջը: Այլապես, ինչպե՞ս ենք մենք կարող աշխարհից արդարություն պահանջել մեկի դեմքով, ում դեմ այսօր ոտքի է կանգնել ողջ հայությունը: Ուրեմն միջազգային հանրությանը ներկայացվող մեր պատմական արդար պահանջը պետք է հիմնավորենք նախ և առաջ մեր երկրի՛համար ճշմարտությունը բարձրաձայնելով:

Կոչ ենք անում անձամբ ձեր և ձեր կազմակերպությունների անունից Եղեռնը հիշատակող բոլոր միջոցառումները վերածել հայրենիքում մնացած մեր մի բուռ ժողովրդի արդար պայքարին զորակցություն հայտնելու շարժման: Ձեր ելույթներում և պաստառներում շեշտադրել հետևյալ կոչերը՝

– Ազա՛տ Արդա՛ր Հայաստա՛ն
– Քայլ արա՛, մերժի՛ր Սերժին
– Ազատությու՛ն քաղբանտարկյալներին
– Հայաստանը՝ ժողովրդի՛ն
– Սե՛րժ, դու մեզ չսպառնաս
– Հայաստանում Մարտի 1-ը չի՛ կրկնվելու
– 1988-2018!
– Պետությունը ժողովուրդն է
– Սերժ Սարգսյա՛ն, քայլ արա՛, ՀԵՌԱՑԻ՛Ր

Վերջնագիր նամակներ հղել Սերժ Սարգսյանին՝ օր առաջ Հայաստանի Հանրապետության վարչապետությունից հրաժարական տալու պահանջով:

Նամակներ հղել նաև Հայաստանի Ազգային Ժողովի բոլոր պատգամավորներին՝ պահանջելով զրկել վարչապետին իր պաշտոնական լիազորություններից և պահպանել խաղաղ անհնազանդության շարժումը նախաձեռնած և ձերբակալված ընդդիմադիր պատգամավորների անձեռնմխելիությունը:

Պահանջել արդար շարժման առաջնորդների և խաղաղ ցուցարարների անհապաղ ազատ արձակումն ու իրավունքների վերականգնումը:

ՀՀ նախագահից, կառավարական և ուժային բոլոր մարմիններից պահանջել անհապաղ քայլեր ձեռնարկել՝ բացառելու խաղաղ ցուցարարների հանդեպ բռնությունները և անմեղ երիտասարդների արյան հեղումը:

Հայաստանի դեսպանատների և հյուպատոսարանների առջև անցկացնել շարունակական ցույցեր, բոլոր այս խնդիրները բարձրաձայնել նաև միջազգային ատյանների առաջ: Գործի դնել ձեր ամբողջ կարողությունը, որպեսզի միջազգային հանրության ուշադրությունը սևեռվի Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում ծավալվող իրադարձությունների և հայ ժողովրդի խաղաղ կամարտահայտման այս դրսևորման վրա։

Անհրաժեշտ է մարդու իրավունքների, միջազգային կառավարական բոլոր հնարավոր մարմինների ներգրավվածությունը` պահանջով, որ Սերժ Սարգսյանը ընդունի իր պարտությունը և հեռանա։ Այլապես իշխանությունները պատրաստվում են խաղաղ անհնազանդությունների՝ օրենքով մեզ տրված իրավունքի իրացումը որակել իբրև անօրինություններ և բռնի ուժ կիրառել ցուցարարների դեմ։

Միասին մենք կարո՛ղ ենք և պե՛տք է վերահաստատենք արդարությունը նախ մեր երկրի՛ ներկայում։ Մեր համոզմամբ, սա է անցյալի անարդարությանը հաղթելու միակ հնարավոր ճանապարհը, որն անցնել կարող ենք միայն միասնական ուժերով։
