Shara the Glutton

Haig, the patriarch of the Armenian nation, was succeeded by his son Armenag. Armenag was succeeded by Aramais. Aramais built the town of Aramavir which later became Armavir. Aramais had a son named Shara, who was a glutton. Aramais sent Shara to a fertile place which was later called Shirak after him. Movses Khorenatsi quotes the proverb about Shara: “If thou hast the gullet of a Shara, our stores are not the stores of Shirak.” Shara had a son named Amasa.
