The Three Armenian States of the Second Century

During the first half of the second century, the Armenia lands remained divided into three states, each with its own ruler. Armenia minor was ruled by a certain Mithridates; Artaxias (Ardashes) ruled the Greater Armenia, while Sophene, Acisene, Odomantis, and a number of other districts were ruled by Zariadris (Zareh). There is very little information on Greater Armenia or the kings who ruled between the reign of Artaxias I (189 B.C. -160 B.C.) and Dikran II (95 B.C.-55 B.C.).
