Macedonian (Armenian) Dynasty of Byzantium

The Byzantium Empire reached its apogee during the reign of Macedonian (Armenian) dynasty. The founder of the dynasty was Vasili I (867-886). Other Armenians who followed him to the throne were Roman Lekapin (919-944); Nikifor Foka (963-969); Ioan Tskimski (Chmsketsi in Armenian) who ruled from 969 to 976) and Vasili II who reigned for 50 years (976-1025).
