“Thank You for Your Support and Trust”

October 22, 2018

Dear Friend,

There's no getting around it: this was not the outcome we'd hoped for.

But, although I'm disappointed that I will not be representing Don Valley West on the school board, I am so proud of the campaign we ran together.

I learned so much from our community over the past few months.  I spoke to hundreds of people on their doorsteps and around the neighbourhood, and those conversations will stay with me long after the dust has settled on this campaign. So many people generously shared their time and their hopes and concerns for our students and schools, and for that I am incredibly grateful.

Political campaigns are kind of like months-long marathons.  What really kept me going through this campaign was the support of people like you.  It is so much easier to keep putting yourself out there when you know how many people are standing behind you.  So thank you, sincerely, for being part of this with me.

People are already starting to ask what's next for me.  I don’t know for sure, but I do know that I will find a way to keep doing what I do best: working collaboratively with communities, building bridges, and finding creative solutions to the challenges that we face.

Thank you for your support and trust,

Amara

Dear Friend,

It has been a long election, with so many twists and turns. But election day is finally here.

Polls are open today from 10am-8pm — please make sure you find time to vote.

I have the experience, the skills, and the vision.

Now, all I need are the votes.

If you need to know where to vote, please call my campaign office at 647-580-8804 — you can also find out where to vote here.

As your trustee, I will listen and learn about what matters to you. I will bring us together to figure things out. And then I will fight hard to make it happen.

I’m ready to get to work for you but first, I have to get elected.

Join me,

Amara
