VIKEN L. ATTARIAN Liberal Investiture Candidate for Ahuntsic-Cartierville
To Meet with Toronto Armenian Community
Montreal 10 January, 2015 – Viken L. Attarian, President of the Policy Commission of the Liberal Party of Canada-QC, and an investiture candidate for the riding of Ahuntsic-Cartierville will be appearing at a special community-wide open discussion session with the Armenian community in Toronto.
“This is a unique event” said Anabel Sharouyan, one of the organizers, “because Viken will be addressing the topic Canadian-Armenian political engagement: Opportunities and Challenges. While our community is already familiar with Viken as a respected scholar and lecturer of numerous Armenian topics, as well as a social commentator, this will be the first opportunity where he will address in depth the political challenges we shall be facing in 2015, the year of the Genocide Centennial and the year of Federal elections in Canada” she added.
“Viken is really looking forward to this event”, said Tamar Panossian, one of the leading organizers in Viken’s campaign team. “In my opinion there is no other candidate who understands the Liberal Party of Canada policy agenda better than Viken. In reality he is the author of many of the policy initiatives of the Liberal Party, so the participants will get a unique perspective and will get the chance to engage someone present at the senior strategic level. This is an event with an open invitation to anyone within the Canadian-Armenian community”.
The event will be in the format of a short presentation followed by a question and answer period. It will take place on Saturday, January 17, at 10 AM at Lara's Restaurant, 155 Consumers Rd Toronto. Brunch will be served.
